What is
ACTION PAINTING?

Born in the 1940-50s in the United States, action painting (or “gestural painting”) is a form of artistic expression where the gesture counts as much, or even more, than the final result.

We project, we splash, we pour, we tap, we let the body express itself.

the canvas becomes the reflection of a movement, of an energy, of an emotion.

The origins of action painting

Action painting was born in post-war America, driven by a need for rupture, spontaneity, and freedom. It is part of the larger movement of abstract expressionism, where painting becomes a means of inner liberation.

Popularized by artists such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning or Franz Kline, this trend is based on a simple idea: it is no longer the result that counts, but the gesture itself. We paint on the ground, we use dripping (drops, jets), we let the paint live.

It is a physical, emotional, instinctive art that invites you to let go. A visual and mental revolution in the history of contemporary art.

At Paint Invaders, we decided to make this practice accessible to everyone, without technique, without judgment, and especially without pressure.

Our mission: to transform action painting into an immersive, relaxing and unforgettable artistic experience. • We trade brushes for paint guns, rollers, giant sponges, sprays... • We replace the silence of museums with music, atmosphere and fun • We forget elitism to make way for intuition, the moment, and the pleasure of creating... • We forget elitism to make way for intuition, the moment, and the pleasure of creating

“I took my 10-year-old daughter with me for her birthday. She had a blast (literally 😅) and all her friends were overexcited in front of their canvases. It's fun, secure, and above all very original. Thank you for an unforgettable day.”

“A totally crazy experience! You forget everything in a few minutes and let yourself be carried away by the colors. I was convinced that I did not have artistic flair, and yet I left with a canvas that I am proud of. A real burst of energy.”

“It's much more than a painting studio: it's a total immersion. The scenography, the energy, the music... you really have the impression of being elsewhere. A mix between let off steam, art and celebration. I will definitely be back!”

It's like a mix between a creative workshop and a trip to Mars. The atmosphere is crazy. Black lights, immersive music, paint suit... and above all, no rules. Just you, the web and the unknown.”

“We privatized the place for an EVJF. The result: splinters of paint, a great souvenir picture, and above all an incredible atmosphere. It was the highlight of the weekend! The bride-to-be loved it.”
